Did you know that hamburgers were first served in America in 1900? It was at Louis’ Lunch, a small lunch wagon owned by Louis Lassen in New Haven, Connecticut. The burger quickly became famous for its convenience and taste and soon spread nationwide. 

These days, hamburgers are enjoyed worldwide as they are easy to access from fast food joints or even grocery stores. But did you know that Americans are estimated to consume over 50 billion burgers each year?

When you think of the classic American hamburger, it’s easy to think of a delicious and convenient meal. But this tasty treat is one of the least healthy options on the menu. With high amounts of fat and calories and very little nutritional value, a hamburger can be dangerous for your health. 

Unsurprisingly, an unhealthy diet is a major factor in obesity, but what may come as a shock is just how many calories are contained in each hamburger. A single burger can have over 450 calories, more than 20% of your daily recommended intake! And that doesn’t include French fries or soda, adding even more fat and sugar to your meal. 

The truth about hamburgers is that they are unhealthy and incredibly dangerous to consume if you’re trying to maintain a healthy weight or any weight at all.

And yet, despite these health concerns, burgers remain one of the most popular foods around. 

It’s hard not to love a juicy burger after all, it’s tasty and convenient.
