    ‘IKEA’ X ‘ESCAPE’ Collaboration Tiny House Design

    Ikea has partnered with Vox Creative, Curbed, and Escape, which are building tiny homes and caravans in the US to create a sustainable small mobile home for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. So you can live anywhere you want, away from the grid and outside the city. Ikea Tiny Home is the perfect choice for those who are constantly on the move or can bring remote work to life.

    Built as part of the Ikea Tiny Home Project, the trailer is a customized version of Escape’s Vista Boho XL. Added features include solar panels, compost toilets, and an optional heated water supply. The Ikea-specific website allows viewers to explore the home and purchase furniture or other ornaments to customize their tiny home.

    “It was a natural match,” Dan Dobrowolski, founder of Escape, told Lonely Planet. “We feature many Ikea products in our various small house designs across the country, as they reflect the renewable, reusable and recycled materials we incorporate into real buildings.”  They tried to make space functional with renewable, reusable, and recycled materials.

    And they accomplished this task. The tiny house’s panels are made from sustainably grown pine, while the kitchen cabinets are shaped with recycled materials. The entire house is also decorated in balanced tones. Furniture with practical features such as storage compartments and folding tables were preferred.

    A Transforming Table Design That Turns Into A Lounge Chair For A Nap

    Designed by the famous French architect Pierre-Louis Gerlier, “Chaise Renversée” is a table that can turn into a lounge. A very plain and minimal concept has been designed. The literal translation of Chaise Renversée is “the chair overturned” and it has a very pleasant and understandable meaning.

    Since we’ve all been stuck in our homes lately, we’re constantly looking for ways to optimize space. Especially if you live in the city and your home space is small, you should find ways to optimize things. Our current situation and the need to be flexible in a small space was what inspired Gerlier to design the Chaise Renversée. This furniture provides a desk to work with and can then when you want to take a nap or want to relax it turns into a lounge chair.

    “The sunbed is a table for those who don’t want to have a table,” says the architect. Indeed, if you only use your desk to reply to emails, work or eat on it, and your desk is taking up a lot of space, why wouldn’t the idea of ​​installing another function on your desk make sense? What we need for our flexible lifestyle is actually what Gerlier gave us and wanted to show! We can create and use more functional furniture by combining the functions of the furniture that we use more or, less instead of killing the area with excess items in small houses.

    A FOLDABLE MICRO APARTMENT DESIGN WITH MULTIFUNCTIONAL USAGE

    Bigger than a furniture but smaller than an apartment and still serving the purposes of both, this 400 square foot studio apartment in Manhattan has a magnificent design. MKCA, an architecture firm based in New York, designed the Unfolding Apartment. Sometimes there were some challenges that arose in this apartment, which was designed for a single young clientele who likes to welcome guests while working from home. It was necessary to accommodate all the zones (for leisure and study) you would find in a large apartment while keeping it compact. So instead of dipping a small available space into even smaller pieces with dividers, MKCA relied on the basic principle of flexibility and started its design based on that idea.

    The main part is an oversized custom blue cabinet mounted on a wall. This cabinet contains many functions such as an opening bed, a bedside table, a wardrobe, a home office, a library, a kitchen cabinet, a bar, and the lighting of the room. All these parts are flexible, modular, and versatile. Parts of the apartment can be expanded over time and adjusted using a series of reconfigurable doors and panels that slide open to create more individual space. It has been carefully designed with privacy in mind. Lighting is integrated into the upper part of the cabin without any visual fixture, giving it a seamless and clean look.

    Blue adds a burst of color to this small and narrow space and creates a visually refreshing effect.

    When the bed opens, we are seeing a fully functional nightstand on the back with a shelf as well as electrical outlets.

    MKCA shows us how we don’t have to compromise on living conditions because of the small size of your flat. The solution is a good architectural design. We loved this studio flat so much! We hope you are inspired as we do!

The convertible chair is covered in soft and durable fabric wrapped over a double layer of foam for a flexible and form-fitting seat rest. The outer parts are covered with oak veneer. Thus, a warm and stylish appearance has been achieved.

     

    The quick-release hinges that replace; it tries to reveal more than ten different positions that you can transform BeYou into with simple, intuitive mechanical movements.     An Amazing Portable & Sustainable Tiny DW House

    Nowadays, we all look forward to seeing different places and getting a different atmosphere. We missed exploring new places, traveling, planning a trip, even sitting in a cafe and having dinner with our friends. But what if staying at home could be more enjoyable and our home could be portable? This would be a very good idea and we could pull our house to the shore of any lake.

    Successful in innovative, modern, and useful prefabricated buildings, Modern-Shed found a solution to this need by designing Dwelling on Wheels, or DW for short, a tiny wheelhouse of 220 square feet (20.5 square meters).

    Let’s take a closer look at the perfect design that people who love to travel and explore can bring along on the road and sit on the shoreline or in the nearby river for overnight stays and views.

    It is designed to withstand fluctuating climates, sudden temperature changes, and variable weather conditions, and its exterior is wrapped in a steel cladding. An industrial country house design has been applied. To further its efforts to preserve its carbon footprint, Modern-Shed installed a small solar panels unit on top of the steel roof. The complete unit measures 8.5 feet (2.6 m.) High, 26 feet (7.9 m.) Long, 16 feet (4.85 m.) Wide. To further enhance DW’s low carbon commitment, it can install both a water tank and a composting unit in each small home.

    The interior of Dwelling on Wheels contains everything you might need to feel at home away from home. When you first enter through the floor-to-ceiling double-glazed door at the entrance, birch-covered interior walls open up the small living space inside, while a small wood stove welcomes you in the living room of the house. The kitchen of the house is also covered with birch wood cabinets and equipped with thin wall heaters, infrared cooktops, both a recessed sink and seating, and a removable dining table.

    The floor is covered with linoleum and adds a warm look to space. It is possible to comfortably accommodate up to three people at DW. Two beds that are almost Queen at the bottom and the twin bed above it come with integrated storage space just below the bunk bed unit. The sleek, tall, and curving sky wall windows offer unlimited outdoor views from anywhere in the small house.

    Biscotti-like Cookie Cup saves disposable glass waste and non-disposable glass cleaning. An insulating, waterproof powdered sugar safely holds the heat and coffee in the edible Cookie Cup until it is consumed. 
    After your espresso is finished, you can easily eat your cup and protect nature without leaving waste. The label is also printed on an edible paper.
